How to Make Pita Bread (Cara Membuat Roti Pita)

Pita bread is a type of breads that is used in order to make kebab. Kebab is a traditionally food from Turkey. Pita is a round pocket bread widely consumed also in many Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Balkan cuisines. It is prevalent in Cyprus, Greece, the Balkans, the Levant, Iran, Armenia, Turkey, and parts of the Indian Subcontinent. The “pocket” in pita bread is created by steam, which puffs up the dough. As the bread cools and flattens, a pocket is left in the middle. In the Balkans, especially Greece, pita also refers to various pastries otherwise called börek. The combination Pita bread with meat, vegetables, and the sauces are delicious :)

Roti Pita adalah jenis roti yang digunakan untuk membuat kebab. Kebab adalah tradisional makanan dari negara Turki. Pita adalah roti saku putaran yang banyak dikonsumsi juga di banyak Timur Tengah, Mediterania, dan masakan Balkan. Selain di Turki, Roti Pita ini lazim ditemukan di negara Siprus, Yunani, Balkan, Levant, Iran, Armenia, dan bagian dari sub-benua India. “Saku” di roti pita dibuat oleh uap, yang dimana adonan mengembang. Roti kemudian dingin dan merata dan terdapat saku yang tersisa di tengah. Di Balkan, terutama Yunani, roti Pitta juga mnegarah pada berbagai kue-kue lain yang disebut börek. Kombinasi roti Pita dengan daging, sayuran, dan saus terasa sangat lezat :)

First mix/campuran pertama:
-Dry yeast / ragi instant (1 pack)
-Warm water / air putih hangat (1/4 L)
-All purpose flour / tepung terigu (125 gram)

Second mix/campuran kedua:
-Vegetable oil/minyak sayur (1,5 tbsp)
-Salt/garam (1,5 tsp)
-All purpose flour / tepung terigu (250 gram)
